Graduate in Medicine (1988). Doctorate in Clinical Medicine with a distinction Cum Laude and Extraordinary Doctorate Award (1998). Specialty in Internal Medicine (1994). Professional practice in the Infectious Diseases Unit of the General University Hospital of Elche (1996-2017) as a specialist and Head of the Unit Section (January 2016-present). University Full Professor since November 2019, accredited since January 2014. Deputy Director of the Official Master in Infectious Diseases and International Health (2015-present) and Deputy Coordinator of the Doctorate Program of Public Health, Medical and Surgical Sciences of the Miguel Hernández University. Four research six years recognized by the AVAP (1994-2017). Co-author of more than 200 scientific publications indexed in JCR (sum of cumulative direct citations> 5000; index H = 35; ISI Web of Science, October 2019). Principal Investigator in two national projects (ISCIII 2013 and 2016). Teacher in more than 100 courses or seminars. ANEP / FIS project evaluator in 2010-2019 calls. Ad hoc evaluator for the Medical Research Council of South Africa and for the State Research Agency in the FONCYT call, Argentina. Co-coordinator Work-Package "Intervention and strategic studies aimed at minimizing the impact of the toxicity of ART, IRIS, and AIDS and non-AIDS events" of the Program of Strategic Studies and Tests (PreEC) of the National Cooperative Thematic Network of Research in AIDS (RETICS-RIS). Reviewer of articles for several international scientific journals, including JAMA, Clinical Infectious Diseases, AIDS and Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy. Associate Editor of BMC Infectious Diseases and European Journal of Medical Research. Member of several quality clinical commissions and / or consultants in the hospital, regional and national spheres, including the Panel of Experts drafting Recommendations for the diagnosis and treatment of neoplasms and ostoporosis in patients with HIV / AIDS and coordinator of the document “Clinical scales applicable to population with HIV” of the Spanish Group for the Study of AIDS (GESIDA). Member of the commission for the evaluation of the applications of the Juan de la Cierva program (2016 and 2017).
